The nose is rich and inviting, with notes of rich maple candy, caramel, brown butter, slightly charred oak, banana soufflé, and a touch of butterscotch. The palate continues this indulgent experience with light butterscotch, baking spices, aged dry oak, maple candy, light rye grain, and burnt caramel. The finish is a symphony of chewy charred oak, thick caramel, light maple candy, rye spice, and baking spices, with a quick transition to lingering spice.

This year’s edition of Jack Daniel’s 12 Year Tennessee Whiskey marks a change in direction compared to last year’s release, focusing more heavily on its time spent in barrels with a emphasis on aged oak and spice notes, in addition to candy-sweet notes. While Batch 2 may not quite hit the same level as last year’s fantastic release, it remains a great showing of Jack Daniel’s that whiskey fans will want to scoop up.
